I was in the process of purchasing a home. Gave the realestate agent $15,000.00 down pmt. He deposit it into his account. Home was never purchased and he flew out on me, he used to work for Re/Max in San Gabrial Valley.
You need to contact your real estate board and report this person.
Most boards have a process that would assist you in recovering your money, either from ReMax itself (possibly through errors and omission insurance the agent probably carried,) or through a transactional fund run by the local board. This is where you can file a complaint against an agent and they can make a judgment against him.
I’d also call the ReMax office and ask whomever answers the phone for contact info on this guy, and then talk to the managing broker and tell him exactly what happened. You might also let him know that you are considering going to the local media and telling your story about how a ReMax agent ripped you off. Good luck
